Shotime.

Shotime. Last season in the MLB… The Japanese Shogun,  Shohei Ohtani , was sidelined from the mound, recovering from his second Tommy John surgery. Skeptics questioned if he’d ever return to form—let alone justify  the largest contract in MLB history : 10 years, $700M, with $680M deferred. The result? Shotime.  Literally. Injured or not, Shohei proved he’s better than most players  at full health . He etched his name even deeper into baseball history with a historic 40/40 season, capped by a  walk-off grand slam —the kind of moment legends are made of. But Ohtani wasn’t done. He authored something  never  seen before: the first-ever  50/50 season . How? By dropping an  all-time  stat line: 6 hits 5 extra-base hits 3 home runs 10 RBIs 2 stolen bases Perfect  at the plate. Let that sink in. Most players don’t hit 3 homers in a game. Most never record 6 hits in one night. Few hit 50 HRs  or  swipe 50 bags in a  sea...

WNBA.

WNBA. last season on the WNBA.. a new champion was crowned, as New York’s Liberty raised their torch in celebration of winning the championship. this season, they aim to recreate the success but the road to victory won’t be easy. out in Indiana, the Fever are preparing to scorch like rising body temperatures, led by their All-Star and ROTY, Caitlin Clark, who rattles competition with her deep range shooting + playmaking capabilities.. the Mystics of Washington aim to be just as unreal and magical as they sound.. the Connecticut Sun want to be as hot as the real deal, aiming to set it off to the degree that they can’t be touched during the regular season.  the Atlanta Dream have dreams of being the team that seems unreal in the possibility of grasping their position, whilst the Chicago Sky aim to be just like the Willis Tower, piercing the atmosphere with their success and leaving everyone else beneath them, similar to the views from the 110th floor led by their rebou...

Controversy. Chaos. Courtside.

NBA controversy. a bit of controversy makes for a good story: villain beginnings, rivalries and personal disputes always starting a media narrative.. in the NBA, some of the biggest stars find their names snared in controversy out in Minnesota, Ant-Man and his pack of Wolves are the surprise team, still alive in the playoffs after sending the timeless king, Lebron James and the Lakers packing in 5: even with his newly acquired magician from the Mavericks, Luka Doncic, following the most controversial and unexpected midseason trade of all time..  he followed up by sending the assassin with deadly range and the newly adopted butler from Miami’s vibrant Heat in the same manner: a 5 game beating.. but Minnesota’s young, athletic superstar? found his name in a world of controversy when reports came out that he’d fathered several children, with him only being 23. the media currently surrounds his ongoing back and forth with the mother of his 4-month old daughter, given th...

MVP.

the Most Valuable Player conversation of this season brings about 2 finalists who both have shown that they were levels above the competition.. so what have they done and who’s deserving of being crowned the NBA’s Most Valuable Player? there’s a chance the MVP award gets announced tonight.. or maybe it doesn’t.. either way, this competition was hot all season and continues to heat up as both are enthralled in a battle to the next round of the playoffs. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, aptly nicknamed SGA or “Aura” is the lightning wielding guard currently captaining the Oklahoma City Thunder and this season, the conversation of Most Valuable Player involved him as he was electric en route to leading his team to the best record in the NBA, 68-14, with tact scoring, fundamentals and efficiency. SGA averaged nearly 33 points, 5 rebounds and almost 7 assists on 52% FG percentage en-route to clinching a postseason berth, alongside taking home an All-Star and the NBA’s scoring champion, given to...

Load Management.

There’s been an ongoing conversation about whether the 82-game season is behind the spike in NBA injuries lately — and for good reason. In recent seasons, we’ve seen an astronomical rise in season-ending — and in some cases, near career-ending — injuries. Data shows a  35% increase in injuries  across the league, making player availability one of the most pressing concerns in the modern NBA. This season alone, we watched  The Process , Joel Embiid, go down in the City of Brotherly Love with a knee injury, playing in just 19 games all year.. his co-star PG-13, Paul George only played 41 games this season after suffering from adductor and knee issues. The Anomaly , Jayson Tatum, ruptured his right Achilles in Game 4 of the second round against the Novas and their newly adopted KAT — and things only got worse from there. The Luck of the Irish finally ran out as the Celtics fell to the Knicks in six. Uncle Drew , Kyrie Irving, tore his left ACL shortly after the All-Star brea...

NFL Season

last season on the NFL: a new champion was crowned, as the Eagles soared above the leaders of Kansas City, dethroning the man who’s rocket arm and innovation at the QB position has him revered as a formidable opponent, so where does that leave the rest of the league? let’s start in the NFC the Eastern division is run by the aforementioned Eagles, led by their former Giant who’s grown wings and now can reverse hurdle opponents without breaking a sweat, a QB who aims to Hurt the competition: whether be with rushing for a touchdown, throwing for one or blinding them with the shine of his jewels.. behind them is a young gunslinger who Commands the Washington team in hopes of tasting similar success to his rookie season, growing into a potential threat in the East. the Cowboys attempt to tend to the cattle and return to their former years, led by a Lamb who’s attempts to grow into a full sheep followed by the Giants who once were larger then life but now appear smaller then bef...

MLB Season '25

the MLB season is heating up.. so how are the standings looking?   in the AL East, the Yankees are running as normal, as we constantly rise when the Judge enters his chambers. the Red Sox are in second, followed by the Blue Jays and their Silver Slugging 2nd generation star in Vlad Jr, with a rough start for the Rays and surprisingly, the Orioles as the Birds sit in the 5th with Rutschman, 1st overall pick Jackson Holliday and their artillery specialist the Gunnar of Henderson vying to improve the standings.. in the AL Central, the Tigers roar to life with their Triple Crown winner Skubal throwing fire and strikeouts as he did last year and the teams putting up runs at a phenomenal rate.. followed by the Guardians of Cleveland, led by their knockout artist on 3rd base, Jose Ramirez. in 3rd we have the Royals, as their superstar shortstop Bobby Witt Jr vies to restore Kansas City on their royal post. in 4th we have the Minnesota Twins, led by speedster Byron Buxton.....

madman? or just determined to win?

we’ve heard it before: “load management”.. the wear and tear of the long, 82 game season catching up.. yet there’s a coach in the East who doesn’t seem to care about the term “load management” Tom Thibodeau. Thibs has this gritty, defensive based coaching scheme and mindset that we’ve never quite seem before.. he plays to win. we understand.. but is his coaching style a pro.. or is it the definition of his team’s self destruction? in 2012, the youngest MVP in NBA History, Derrick Rose, tore his ACL in Game 1 of the first round.. the question rose: is it Rose? or is it Thibs? Thibs’ coaching regime and methods have starters playing load-intensive minutes, seemingly ignoring this new “load management” warning but instead vying for the taste of championship success.. this season, we saw the Novas and their newly adopted KAT attempt to fight their way into the playoffs for a chance at postseason success.. but looking at game logs and highlights: Thibs’ rotation leaves us a...
